Just thought i'll start the ball rolling...Literally. Since prep for The Ball is a year away.
With 1 yr and 3 days to The Wedding, and slightly more than a month since he proposed, we have been hard at work, first booking a date with Father Siew and confirming the wedding date, then hotel hunting, and visiting a few shortlisted bridal studios.
Booking a date with church first felt like a correct start. Only that the desired date was tough in terms of finding a hotel which wasnt booked yet. By God's grace, the first, and my dream hotel, Goodwood Park, was available! However, reality struck when the in-laws-to-be informed me that 40 table was not gonna be enough, we needed at least 55 tables.
So with that option sadly out for us, we had to narrow our search. Orchard Mandarin seemed promising, 'cept we didnt like the ballroom, nor the reception area. Marriott was too small, and Swissotel was a misfit, and and and...like Goldilocks, we found one which met our needs--Grand Hyatt, along with its confident and experienced events coordinator, we are in the midst of signing the contract.
Gown hunting, though tiring, has been rewarding. I feel God's presence and assurance in the designers he has been sending our way so far. Miah from Amanda Lee was warm and accomodating, Silhouette's Kenji recommended some lovely gowns and was willing to made to measure at a good price. However, the final signing was with friendly and experienced Amy, at Di Gio, who's giving me a champagne coloured, regal gown to keep, with 4 outdoor location shoots and 4 gowns for outdoor at a good price ;)
so that's three things settled. Church. Hotel. Gown.
but, amid the hustle, bustle, tulle, lace and travelling, Jem reminds me that even if nothing is certain or confirmed, We Are. ;)
Can't feel more blessed.
